Actress Halle Berry is entering a “new phase” in her life by launching a new menopause-focused health care platform that aims to offer a wealth of resources—while removing the stigma surrounding that stage in a woman’s life.

Ohio native Berry, 58, announced the launch of Respin Health this week, taking part in a packed media tour that saw her appearing on all manner of TV shows and podcasts, as well as magazine interviews and photo shoots.

The message she sent in all of them? She refuses to shy away from discussing menopause out of fear that it might change how people view her.

“Sadly, people said to me, ‘Are you sure you want to talk about that? Do you want to align yourself with menopause? Do you worry how that will affect your career?’ And I said, ‘No,’” she told People magazine.

“And that’s exactly why I should be talking about it because there’s nothing wrong with me being in my midlife. There’s nothing wrong with being 58, and you have to stop telling me there’s something wrong with me. And I’m going to prove to you that it’s not. And so women, we have to work together to destigmatize this time of life and change culture.”

Speaking to Fortune, Berry described the launch of her company as her “second act,” an opportunity to tackle “a new challenge” away from the bright lights of Hollywood where she has spent much of the past three decades.

Berry revealed that her company will offer women four features: community, content, commerce, and care. She emphasized that women going through menopause will be able to connect and learn about what they are going through.

But while her business may take her away from the big screen, Berry seems content to remain rooted in Los Angeles—as far as her homes are concerned.

There, Berry resides with Van Hunt, whom she began dating in 2020, five years after divorcing her third husband, Olivier Martinez.

Speaking about her latest relationship, Berry told the “Today” show that she believes she “manifested” Hunt, admitting that she met the musician at a time when she had grown content with the idea of never falling in love again.

“If it didn’t come, I would have been good just to raise my kids,” she said. “After three divorces, you kind of go, ‘I’m just going to be alone,’ and I was ready to do that. I was done. I knew that if the right person didn’t show up for me, I’d be better off going at it alone. But this is the power of manifestation. We can manifest any reality we want.”

Together, the pair are understood to reside in a staggering Malibu beach house that Berry bought in 2004. Having cycled through several homes over the years, the actress has kept possession of this one for the long term. Though she put it on the market briefly in October 2023, she has made no other moves to offload it.
